Snow Search Team Details Rescues of Snowmobilers

Written by on March 3, 2021

Wednesday morning on KODI’s “Speak Your Piece with Darian Dudrick,” two members of the Park County Sheriff’s Office snow search team talked about recent rescues of snowmobilers in the Beartooth Mountains.

Dudrick welcomed to the show Dustin Rosencranse and Tony Simek, along with Park County Sheriff Scott Steward, to discuss the two incidents that happened within a week (the dispatch office received initial calls Feb. 18 and 24).

The first incident involved two Montana snowmobilers, and the second involved eight snowmobilers from Minnesota and Wisconsin.

During Wednesday’s show, Steward, Rosencranse and Simek reminded listeners how to plan for a snowmobiling trip in the mountains. The history of the snow search team was also discussed.
