Solid Summer in Cody

It was a solid summer for businesses in Cody, despite road construction in several directions.
That’s according to Cody Chamber Director Tina Hoebelheinrich, who says that despite the improvements between Cody and the North Fork, as well as the landslide work on the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway, it was a good summer economically for local retailers and hospitality businesses.
However, Hoebelheinrich points out that they will never know how many visitors were routed around Cody due to TripAdvisor comments and advisements from GPS navigation systems that may have warned them away from the East Entrance because of the construction.
But she notes that the Chamber and its partners are looking ahead to the upcoming months, working on events that will help to keep the economy rolling.
The Chamber’s next event will be next week’s Halloween celebration, which will bring trick-or-treaters and the rest of the community downtown for games, activities, and other novelties on Wednesday beginning at 4 p.m.
