Solstice Brings Winter Weather
Written by Andrew-Rossi on December 22, 2017
Yesterday’s winter solstice marked a difference not just in the seasons, but in weather as well.
The first winter storm this week brought 98 mile per hour wind gusts to the Clark area, along with enough snow to help winter recreation efforts and guarantee a White Christmas. The East Entrance to Yellowstone opens today for over-snow travel, and Sleeping Giant Ski Area will open on Tuesday.
More winter weather is expected beginning this afternoon, with snow likely through tomorrow. In Cody, we could get up to three inches – and wind chill factors will bring temperatures to as low as negative 10.
