St. Jude Fundraisers This Week
Written by Andrew-Rossi on April 4, 2019
It’s all about the kids.
That’s the drive behind this week’s series of fundraisers for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which are all being put on by the Big Horn Radio Network.
Last night, over 100 people bought tickets to the St. Jude Celebrity Dinner, which was held at Cassie’s Supper Club in Cody. More than a dozen local “celebrities” dressed in outlandish (and sometimes elaborate) costumes waited tables to raise money for St. Jude.
Today and tomorrow, listeners can tune in to KZMQ-FM, at 102.3 and 100.3 on the radio dial, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., to hear inspirational stories from families whose children have been treated at St. Jude. Wes McShay, who hosts the morning show on KZMQ but will be on the air for the duration of the radiothon, says it’s a highlight of his year.
The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of the hospital’s founder, Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay.
Legend Communications has held radiothons at all of its northern Wyoming locations for almost a dozen years, raising over a million dollars to help fund the research, and help the kids, at St. Jude.
