In other statewide elections, incumbent John Barrasso handily beat Republican opponent Dave Dodson to appear on the ballot in November to retain his seat as one of Wyoming’s two senators. He will face Democrat Gary Trauner during the general election.
Liz Cheney was the clear winner in the race for the Republican candidacy for the seat she currently holds as the state’s lone representative in Congress. She will go up against Democrat Greg Hunter in November.
Kristi Racines won the Republican nomination for state Auditor over Nathan Winters in last night’s election results – Racines will face Democrat Jeff Dockter in the general election. And Curt Meier beat Leland Christensen in the Republican race for state Treasurer; no Democrat filed to run for that office.
Jillian Balow ran unopposed to keep her seat as the state’s superintendent of public instruction, as did Ed Buchanan, who was appointed to fill the Secretary of State position earlier this year following the resignation of Ed Murray. But the Republican will have an opponent in November, facing off against Democrat James Byrd.
The full slate of election results can be found on the Wyoming Secretary of State’s website under the Elections tab, or for local races, go to parkcounty.us, click on the County Clerk tab, and then go to elections.
