Storm Damage in Big Horn County

Written by on July 27, 2018

A fast moving, violent storm passed through the Lovell area yesterday evening, causing extensive property damage and power outages.
According to a post on the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Department Facebook page, residents who were affected by the storm are asked to document any damage to residences, taking photos if possible, to be reported to the homeowners’ insurance companies.
Keele Sanitation has reached out to the Town of Lovell and offered their support after yesterday evening’s storm. They will be delivering four roll-off dumpsters free of charge in various locations around town for the citizens of Lovell to utilize today. Additionally, Lovell Lumber opened their doors today at 7 a.m. to take care of the needs of residents who need to make repairs after the storm damage.
Officials with the Department also point out that if residents are aware that their neighbors aren’t home and there is damage to those buildings, to contact the Sheriff’s office, and encourages faith based organizations or other groups to check on each other’s property as well.
Power was beginning to come back on by about 9 p.m. yesterday evening.
