Student Success is Priority for Park County School District 6

Written by on September 21, 2017

With the new school year in full swing, Park County School District 6 is focused on one overall goal – the success of their students.
Superintendent Ray Shulte addressed members of the Cody Chamber of Commerce on Monday at Cody Club, presenting numbers, facts and figures regarding the day to day operations of the school district. He discussed the overall ACT scores, which are in line with the rest of the state; he reviewed the state’s report card that shows where improvements are needed in each school; and he discussed budget numbers. But overall, he says, the goal for the district is student success.

A challenge for the district is funding. Shulte told the audience that local revenue for the district has declined by two million dollars in the last two years, and with the state’s budget crisis, the school has had to make some serious changes.
However, he says they are being very fiscally responsible, coming in under budget last year, which will allow for the over-budget financial expectations they have for this coming year.
