Successful Season at YRA

Written by on September 28, 2018

It was a successful summer season at Yellowstone Regional Airport.
Despite the changeover in primary air service carriers, Airport Manager Bob Hooper says that enplanements will end up being about the same as last year. United did not bring in the same number of flights as the regional airport has seen in years past, when Delta was the primary carrier, but Hooper says that the percentage of people boarding the flights in and out of Cody is still high.

Hooper says that the majority of passengers in the summer are tourists coming to Yellowstone, which underscores the importance of air service to the region.
Bucky Hall, who is on the board for the Cody-Yellowstone Air Improvement Group, says that a contingency from Cody will be heading to Chicago on Monday to negotiate with United Airlines to bring more flights in to YRA.

Hooper says that the current winter schedule for United includes departures at 5:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. daily, but he says that could change. SkyWest, which has provided additional flights in and out of Cody to the Salt Lake City hub in the summer months, will end their 2018 service at the end of this month.
