Sunset House Closing May 7

A landmark restaurant in Cody is closing.
The Sunset House opened its doors in May of 1987, replacing the Canyon Cafeteria at that location – but this Sunday will be the last day they will be open to customers. In a short announcement to patrons and the press, owner Bill Garlow acknowledged the value of the last thirty years, but said, quote, “all restaurants have a life span,” endquote. After business ends on Sunday, May 7, the Sunset House will close its doors for good.
Garlow told KODI news that the decision was based purely on financial reasons. He added that several Sunset House employees will be moving over to the 8th Street restaurant at the Best Western Premiere Ivy Inn and Suites. Additionally, he said that some menu items that have been staples at the Sunset House, such as the popular Fandango Salad, may appear on the menu at the Ivy.
