The 8th Annual Park & Pancakes Celebrates East Gate Opening

The morning was cool with a light breeze for the 8th Annual Park & Pancakes (5/6/2022) near downtown Cody.
Cody Country Chamber of Commerce members, as is customary, served a complimentary breakfast of flapjacks, bacon (provided by Blair Hotels), fruit, and coffee at the City Park near Cody High School.
The event celebrates the opening of the East Gate of Yellowstone National Park for the year. Ambassadors of the Cody Country Chamber of Commerce held a public, ceremonial ribbon-cutting at the domes and in front of the East Entrance sign. This year marks the 150th anniversary of Yellowstone National Park, the world’s first national park.
The Cody Country Chamber Ambassadors function as goodwill representatives in the community. They also welcome new businesses to Cody and congratulate firms celebrating significant milestones. The Ambassadors help manage and improve the western hospitality of Cody Country.
Brayden McCoy, Big Horn Radio Network morning show host on KZMQ, covered the event broadcasting live on site. He interviewed members of the Chamber Ambassadors and featured his ongoing community trivia challenge, The Daily Dilemma.
Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Tina Hoebelheinrich, spoke with McCoy about the event as folks were finishing their breakfast, saying, “This is my seventh year…it’s super easy to setup and we just love doing it.”
When asked about her favorite spot in Yellowstone, Hoebelheinrich said, “If you take the Fairy Falls hike and hike up to the Grand Prismatic overlook on that Fairy Falls trail, you get the real deal version of what Grand Prismatic should look like.”
With the tourist season underway, the Cody Chamber of Commerce is busy preparing for the rush of summer activity.
