Tourists Cited for Trespassing At Old Faithful
Written by Andrew-Rossi on September 16, 2019
More tourists are becoming bold enough to walk dangerously close to the hazardous geological features in Yellowstone.
Two men were caught on camera leaning over the opening to the iconic Old Faithful Geyser in the Park Tuesday. The pictures were shared on a Facebook page titled Yellowstone National Park: Invasion of The Idiots.
Information on the identity of the two men is still unknown at this time, but both men are scheduled to appear in court in December, charged with thermal trespassing.
The Yellowstone National Park website points out that burns from thermal features are a common cause of serious injury and death in the park. Foot travel in all thermal areas must be confined to boardwalks or maintained trails that are marked by official signs.
Park Officials say they plan to release more information about the incident at a later date.
