Traffic Delays Expected Near Shoshoni

Written by on May 11, 2017

Travelers, be aware – road construction between Shoshoni and Casper will mean delays for the rest of the summer.

Traffic delays are expected on a 6.15-mile pavement improvement project beginning this week east of Shoshoni on Highway 20/26.

The $1.12 million project begins about 32 miles east of Shoshoni. Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer Kaia Tharp of Thermopolis says McGarvin-Moberly Construction of Worland plans to start work this week, depending on the weather. She adds that drivers should expect travel delays of up to 15 minutes during this project.

The contractor’s schedule calls for paving to take about two weeks to complete, but chip sealing won’t begin until after June 1. The contract completion date is Aug. 31.
