Travel Delays in YNP This Weekend
Written by Andrew-Rossi on May 26, 2017
Good news for travelers to Yellowstone National Park this Memorial Day weekend – the road is open again between Canyon and Fishing Bridge.
Travel is just one-lane at Sliding Meadow, with traffic lights on each end, so drivers should expect some delay. However, the road is still closed from Canyon to Tower, over Dunraven Pass. In other areas of the park, 30 minute delays between Roaring Mountain and the Indian Creek Campground are occurring on the road from Norris to Mammoth, and a portion of the road between Canyon Village & Lake Village is limited to one lane of travel. Drivers should expect delays near the entrance to South Rim Drive at the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.
Yellowstone has five entrance stations. It does take many hours to drive between these entrances, so be sure to check the status of roads at the entrance you intend to use.
