Tuckness Named Grand Marshal

Written by on May 24, 2018

The Stampede Parade Committee has announced its Grand Marshal for the 2018 celebration – and it’s someone whose heart is close to home.
Dusty Tuckness has been named the Grand Marshal for the Stampede Parades on July 3rd and 4th. Tuckness hails from Meeteetse, but has made a name for himself in the pro rodeo world. He was named last year the PRCA Bullfighter of the Year for the seventh year in a row.
Parade Committee president Mack Frost says the theme this year is Wyoming – Bucking Through Time, celebrating the centennial of the Wyoming bucking horse logo. And Carolyn Williams, secretary for the group, says that the committee believed Tuckness was the perfect choice for the theme.

Tuckness told the Wrangler Network that he grew up knowing that he wanted to be a bullfighter, but didn’t realize at the time that it would turn into a career. He comes home to Park County each year to participate in the Cody Stampede Rodeo and parades.
Tuckness has racked up an impressive list of awards, including 7-time PRCA bullfighter of the year; 9-time Wrangler National Finals Rodeo Bullfighter; 7-time participant in the College National Finals Rodeo; and two time PBF Protection World Champion.
