Two Grizzlies Relocated to Cody Region

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department caught and relocated a sub-adult male grizzly bear last week to an area east of Yellowstone National Park.
On August 7th, the young bear was captured, as was an older male grizzly, who had been captured for preying on cattle on a Forest Service grazing allotment north of Pinedale. Both were relocated to the Mormon Creek drainage about 5 miles from the east entrance of Yellowstone National Park.
The release site is located in currently occupied grizzly bear habitat. Game and Fish continues to stress the importance of the public’s responsibility in bear management and the importance of keeping all attractants unavailable to bears.
