Two More Protesters Arrested

Written by on March 19, 2018

Two people were arrested after chaining themselves to cement-filled barrels in an effort to prevent trucks from hauling Yellowstone National Park bison to slaughterhouses.
Park officials report that two members of the group Wild Buffalo Defense were arrested Friday in the park. This comes just a week after three other members of the group were arrested, and subsequently banned from the park and ordered to pay more than $1000 each in fines.
Bison are shipped to slaughter each year as part of a population management plan for the park. Wild Buffalo Defense spokesman Monty Slate told the Bozeman Daily Chronicle that the protest delayed a shipment of bison for a few hours before a path was cleared around the protesters.
