A program aimed at transporting Wyoming veterans to their medical appointments was highlighted Wednesday morning on KODI’s “Speak Your Piece with Darian Dudrick.”
Tim Sheppard, Wyoming Veterans Commission executive director, discussed the Highly Rural Transportation Program, which is designed to take eligible veterans to and from Veterans Affairs community care facilities free of charge.
WVC has received a grant to care for eligible veterans in six Wyoming counties: Carbon, Sweetwater, Lincoln, Sublette, Teton and Park.
In addition, WVC is in need of drivers in each of those counties to transport the veterans.
Sheppard also talked to Dudrick about a hunger initiative for veterans, as well as filing disability claims and benefits for veterans.
