Visitors Welcomed at Legislature

Written by on February 19, 2019

The Wyoming Legislative Session isn’t just a place for representatives and senators to gather and make decisions on behalf of the citizens of Wyoming.

The citizens themselves travel to Cheyenne to take part in the process.

Sandy Newsome is a freshman representative from Cody, and she says that there are visitors from all over the state daily who come to meet with their legislators, to follow bills and to be spectators in the lawmaking process.

The legislators will be able to go home next week, after 35 days in session. Newsome says that the senators and representatives will gavel in for a short session in July, to commemorate the re-opening of the Capitol building, which has been under construction for the past four years.
