Voters May Switch Parties for the Primary

Next week’s Primary elections could determine many of the races that affect residents of Wyoming.
Because Wyoming is a heavily Republican state, most of the candidates running for elected office are registered Republicans – so registered Democrats would not have a say, because those candidates will not be on the democratic ballot.
However, Park County Clerk Colleen Renner says that many people choose to change their party affiliation just for the one day in order to make their voice heard.
Renner points out that you don’t have to wait to change your affiliation back to the party of your choice – she says that you can return to your original party that same day.
She adds that anyone who is not registered to vote yet may do so next Tuesday at the local precincts.
