Warriors Basketball Are Northwest Conference Champs With Weekend Wins

The Worland Warrior Boy’s Basketball team is the number 1 seed from the Northwest Conference with wins over Powell and Lovell.
Friday night in Powell the Warriors would face the number 3 ranked Panthers.
The last time Worland played the Panthers in Powell was last season at the West Regional Tournament, Powell would get a 73-63 win and give Worland the number 2 seed at the State Tournament.
The Warriors were determined to atone for the loss.
In a tight contest, the first period would end with a 4-point Warrior lead of 16-12.
Eight minutes later the score was still separated by 4 points at the half, 28-24.
The adjustments at halftime would begin to see the score and the Warriors take a larger lead scoring 19 points in the third and a 47-32 lead.
Worland would continue to control the 4th period and get a 17-point win over Powell with a 60-43 win.
Senior Carter Clark finished with 22 points, Senior Court Gonsalez had 12 points and led the team in rebounds with 9, and Senior Brock Douzenis had 10 points and 3 steals.

Saturday the Warriors were in Lovell to face the Bulldogs.
Worland would start the first period with a 1-point lead over Lovell 12-11.
The Warriors would score 15 in the second period while the Bulldogs would score 12 with Worland ending the 1st half with a 4-point lead, 27-23.
The 3rd period would see the Warriors defense hold Lovell to 8 points while the Worland offense would score 13 taking a 40-31 3rd period lead.
The Warriors would get a 10-point win over Lovell 54-44 and their 13th win in a row.
Worland is 14-3 overall and 5-0 in the conference.
Senior Kade Weber finished with 15 points with a team-high 6 assists, Clark had 12 points, Douzenis with 11 points, Senior Landen Gilmore had 9 rebounds, 3 blocked shots to go with his 7 points.
