Warriors With An Impressive Win Over Powell 28-7

The Worland Warriors Football team beat the number 4 ranked team in Wyoming 3A Football 28-7 this past Friday 28-7.
The three-touchdown win was a very impressive win for a team on the rise.
Worland hadn’t beaten Powell since August 31st, 2018.
The Warriors came out firing with a 3-play drive that included a 67-yard touchdown pass from Senior Quarterback Kade Weber to Senior Wide Reciever Brock Douzenis.
Powell would start their opening drive with a 3-play-and-out miss cue snap that went over the head of the Powell punter resulting in the Warriors taking over at the Powell 18-yard line.
Unfortunately, Worland would fumble the next play and would give the ball back to the Panthers.
The Panthers would get their largest gain of the game with a 32-yard pass completion.
Worland would stop the 9-play drive with a 3rd and 9 sack from Sophomore Brody Theil and force Powell to punt.
The Warriors would end the drive on a 3-play and out punt back to the Panthers.
Powell would drive 12 plays and stall just outside the RedZone with a stop from the Warriors at the 26-yard line.
Weber would then drive the Warriors 79 yards in 9 plays ending with an 18-yard touchdown pass to Douzenis for his second touchdown of the first half.
On the next Panther drive, Douzenis would intercept Powell Quarterback Jhett Schwahn and return it for a 75-yard touchdown putting the Warriors up 21-0.
The very next Powell drive would result in Schwahn’s second interception, this one to Senior Safety Court Gonsalez.
Worland would run the first half clock out and go into halftime with a 3 touchdown lead.
Powell would start the second half with a 13-play 60-yard touchdown drive consuming over 7 minutes off the clock making the score 21-7 Warriors.
Weber would then take Worland on an 8-play 65-yard drive ending with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Douzenis to put the Warriors up 28-7.
The Panthers ran 5 plays that ended in Schwahn’s 3rd interception, this one by Sophomore Mason Decker.
Worland then ran 8 plays and attempted a 37-yard field goal that just missed.
Brock Douzenis would seal the Warrior victory with his second interception of the game and Powell’s 4th turnover.
Worland would get the victory 28-7.
Senior Kade Weber threw for 152 yards with 11 receptions, 3 touchdowns, and no interceptions. Weber also ran for 82 yards.
The player of the game was Senior Brock Douzenis who had 6 catches for 115 yards and 3 touchdowns, Douzenis also had 2 interceptions 1 of which he returned 75 yards for a touchdown.
All 4 Warrior touchdowns were scored by Douzenis.
