Water Temporarily Unavailable in Yellowstone’s Madison Area During System Repair

Written by on September 6, 2023

The Madison area of Yellowstone National Park is without water due to system repair issues.

The National Park Service issued an announcement to let the public know that the flush toilets and running water in the Madison area are temporarily unavailable, which is located 14 miles east of the West Entrance

Teams are diligently working on repairing the water system.

Additional areas without water include:

    • Madison Campground
    • Madison Comfort Station
    • Government housing area

The park is working to provide temporary restrooms, hand-washing stations and potable water at to the campground, along with the comfort station and government area. However, the campground, picnic area and Madison Information Station will remain open.

The water-outage is expected to last at least five days and updates will be provided when available. For more information, please contact Linda Veress with Yellowstone National Park.
