Webinar Addresses Shopko Concerns

Many residents in communities throughout the Bighorn Basin are changing their shopping habits – and not voluntarily.
With the closure of all the Shopko stores nationwide, many people in the rural communities in the Bighorn Basin are looking for ways to fill the gap left by the stores that they have relied on for everyday supplies.
Amy Quick, the Wyoming Business Council’s Northwest Regional Director, says they are hosting a webinar tomorrow that will attempt to address those concerns. The webinar will be available online beginning at 8:30 a.m., and Quick says people can participate in the conversation that will center on results compiled by the National Main Street Center, after one of their representatives conducted listening sessions with community leaders, local retailers and consumers.
The webinar will consist of an hour presentation, then a question and answer session in which participants can type in questions to be answered by the facilitators.
Register for the webinar by going to the website wyomingbusiness.org, or contact the Powell Economic Partnership or Washakie Development Association to participate in a group showing. Quick says the webinar is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday, June 6th.
