OVER THE WEEKEND THE YELLOWSTONE QUAKE WERE BACK IN ACTION THIS WEEKEND IN GILLETTE TAKING ON THE WILD. THE QUAKE WOULD DROP FRIDAY’S CONTEST 3-2 BUT BOUNCE BACK TO WIN SATURDAY BY A SCORE OF 6-4, SPLITTING THE WEEKEND SERIES.
THE NWC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM TOOK TO THE COURTS IN COLORADO AND WOULD FINISH THEIR TIME IN THE MILE HIGH STATE WITH A 1-1 WEEKEND RECORD, DEFEATING AIR FORCE PREP FRIDAY AND LOSING TO COLORADO BALLERS SATURDAY. MEANWHILE, THE MEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM DROPPED THEIR CONTEST TO TRINIDAD STATE ON FRIDAY.
DESPITE HOLDING THE #23 COLORADO BUFFALOES TO JUST 15 POINTS IN THE FIRST HALF, WYOMING COULD NOT OVERCOME A SLOW START IN THE SECOND HALF IN A 56-41 LOSS ON SUNDAY EVENING IN THE MGM MAIN EVENT SEMIFINAL IN T-MOBILE ARENA IN LAS VEGAS. WYOMING RETURNS TO ACTION ON TUESDAY EVENING WITH A 7PM TIP-OFF.
THE COWGIRLS STRUGGLED OFFENSIVELY IN THE SECOND HALF, SCORING JUST 15 POINTS IN THE FINAL 20 MINUTES, AND WYOMING (2-3) LOST THE FIRST OF A TWO-GAME ROAD TRIP TO SOUTH DAKOTA STATE, 40-67. THE COWGIRLS ARE BACK IN ACTION TONIGHT VS. NDSU.
IT WAS A NIGHT THAT HAD A STORYBOOK ENDING FOR THE WYOMING COWBOYS. THE POKES CAPTURED THEIR FOURTH CONSECUTIVE WIN OVER RIVAL COLORADO STATE, WITH A 17-7 HOME VICTORY. WYOMING IMPROVED TO 7-4 ON THE SEASON AND COMPLETED AN UNDEFEATED HOME SEASON.
JOSH ALLEN THREW TWO TOUCHDOWNS PASSING AND SHAQ LAWSON HAD TWO OF BUFFALO’S FOUR SACKS IN A 20-3 WIN OVER THE DENVER BRONCOS ON SUNDAY THAT HAS THE BILLS OFF TO THEIR BEST START IN 23 YEARS.
