Weird and Strange Laws in Wyoming

Written by on March 10, 2021

Wyoming is a beautiful place to plant your roots. Yet like any place there are somethings that are just too funny to not point out.

Weird crazy laws are at the top of the list. This by the way is coming from a girl who just made her roots as steady as your best bar stool here.

Here are a few of my favorites I found as I continued to use the world wide web to help me learn about this place tucked so beautifully away in the mountains.

All buildings costing more then $100,000 to build, well you must have spent 1% of the money on artwork. Fancy right?!

Drinking a martini in a sawmill may land you up to one year in prison. Real life jail for having a drink in sawmill who knew.

Any person working with buying or selling rubber may not do business with an intoxicated person. So there goes having drinks and buying tires.

It is illegal to wear a hat that obstructs people’s view in a public theater or place of amusement. Ten gallon hats are 86’d on this one for sure.

You may be fined $750 for not closing a gate crossing over a river. Really? what river has a gate?

You may not fish with a machine gun. That is just called being an adult. You should know better!

It is illegal for women to stand within five feet of a bar while drinking. Cuff me now sir I am sorry but I must be six feet away. Also know as far as away of a buffalo.

You may not take a picture of a rabbit from January to April without an official permit. Where and who do I call to get that permit?!

Skydiving while drunk is illegal. Seems like a no duh moment.

The best is in Cheyenne:
You may not spit on a public library’s walls and you may not take a shower on a Wednesday.

Well there goes all my Wednesday plans and then some! Funny laws still in order will forever tickle me, and I hope it did the same for you!
