Worland Cross Country Finishes Top 5 In Ethete

The Worland High School Cross Country Team was highly competitive at The Chief Nation Cross Country Invite at Wyoming Indian High School last Saturday in Ethete.
The Boys finished 4th overall at the meet. Star Valley won the meet overall followed by Mountain View and Natrona County.
Twenty teams were at the invite including several 4A, 3A, and 2A schools.
The Chief Nation Invite is a preview of the State Championship that Wyoming Indian High School also hosts.
The Warriors were led by Senior Jack Bishop who finished 11th. Right behind Bishop was Sophomore Trajn Swalstad at 12th.
Melvin Croft, Kiyoshi Smith, Ira Croft, Scottie Thomas, and Jacob Holiday also ran for the Warrior Varsity.
There were 112 runners in all for the Varsity race.
The Lady Warriors finished 5th overall behind Natrona County, Evanston, Powell, and Lander.
Sophomore Zena Tapia was 8th, Isaira Matamoros, Nyssa Leyva, and Carly Venable would also score for the Girl’s Varsity.
There were 18 teams and 86 runners in the Girl’s Varsity race.
The Worland High School Cross Country Team will be at the Lander Invite Thursday.
Fort Washakie, Green River, Lander, Powell, Riverton, Rocky Mountain, St. Stephens, Thermopolis, Wind River, Worland, and Wyoming Indian are scheduled.
