Worland Host Wildfire Fastpitch Softball Invitational

The Worland Wildfires Invitational from this past weekend at Newell Sargent Park was a success.

Tournament Director and Head Coach of the Worland Wildfires Dave Coronado was happy with the turnout and support.

The Invite was held over two days on two fields at Newell Sargent Park.

There were 3 teams in the 14U tournament : Lander Legends, Riverton Renegades, and the Sheridan Mystix.

The 16/18U side had 4 teams: Lander Legends, Riverton Renegades, the Casper-Valor Valkyries, and the Worland Wildfires.

In Saturday Pool play on Field 3 at 10:00 AM for the 14U teams the Riverton Renegades beat the Lander Legends 18-7.

The Legends would play again at Noon and lose to the Sheridan Mystix 20-3.

The final game of 14U Pool play was the Mystix 20-0 win over the Renegades.

Saturday Pool play for the 16/18U teams had The Wildfires against the Lander Legends at 9:30AM on Field 5.

The Wildfires would score the most runs in team history with 38 and would win game 1 38-20 over Lander.

The 1:30PM game on Saturday was the Riverton Renegades over the Lander Legends 18-3

The final game of Pool play would see the Renegades over Casper 7-6. Riverton would get the 1 seed going into bracket play.

Sundays games for 14U started at 10:00AM. Riverton would beat Lander 12-11 in the first game of Bracket play.

The Riverton Renegades 14U team would play the Sheridan Mystix for the Championship.

Sheridan would win the 14U Worland Invite 16-1 over Riverton.

The 16/18U Bracket play began at 9:30AM Sunday morning with the Riverton Renegades over the Lander Legends 16-1.

Worland would face Casper at 11:30AM on field 5.

Casper would get a 27-11 win over the Wildfires and advance to the 16/18U Championship against the Renegades.

The 16/18U Championship saw first pitch at 1:30pm.

The Casper Valor Valkyries would win the Worland Invite Championship with a 16-1 win over the Riverton Renegades.
