Worland Wrestling At Ron Thon Memorial

The Worland Warrior Wrestling team were at the Ron Thon Memorial Meet in Riverton on Friday and Saturday.
39 teams from across Wyoming High Schools from All Classes would compete.
The Warriors finished 17th at the Meet.
Kobe Swain, Creedon Newell, Tillman Burns, Ivan Keuntjes, Nathan Harper, and Christian Peterson.
At the 132 lb. weight class Ross Goncalves would finish 4th scoring 21.5 points for the Warriors team.
The road to Goncalves winning was not easy. He would face a top ranked Wrestler in every round but the first.
Wins over the number 2, 3, and 4th ranked Wrestlers in Wyoming 2A.
Ross also had wins over 3A number 2 ranked Pinedale Wrestler Jake Hammer, and number 6 ranked 3A from Star Valley Porter Merritt.
Gonclaves lost by decision , in round 2, to the 3rd ranked Wyoming 3A Wrestler Blayne Coleman from Rawlins.
In the 3rd Place Match Ross would face Wyoming’s 4A number 1 ranked Wrestler from Cheyenne East Liam Fox. Gonclaves would unfortunately come up short.
Junior Ross Gonclaves is currently ranked 4th in Wyoming 3A at the 132 lb weight class.
