WYDOT Begins Work on Shoshone River Bridge in Cody
Written by Andrew-Rossi on June 6, 2023
Summer is construction season, and W.Y.D.O.T. is always in the spirit of the season. On Tuesday, June 6, W.Y.D.O.T. started a smaller but not less important improvement project on the Shoshone River Bridge in Cody.
“Bridge rehabilitation” is underway on the Wyoming Highway 120 bridge crossing the Shoshone River near the Park County Law Enforcement Center. Only half of the bridge is being worked on, which means traffic is limited to a single lane.
This work will take some time – W.Y.D.O.T. anticipates single-lane traffic will continue for several months—portable traffic signals on both sides of the bridge control traffic.
W.Y.D.O.T.’s other significant Cody project this summer – replacing the lighting in the big tunnel at the Buffalo Bill Dam – is making progress. All work is being done at night – between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. six days a week – with 20-minute delays during working hours. The project will be finished by October 31.
