WYDOT Work To Cause Delays at Buffalo Bill Dam Tunnels

Expect delays and altered traffic patterns if you’re going through the tunnels in the next few days.
The Wyoming Department of Transportation will be evaluating the three tunnels by the Buffalo Bill Dam over the next two days – November 5th and 6th. They will be testing and relamping the lighting systems, looking at the rock liners and all rocks surrounding the portals and assessing the effectiveness of the exhaust fans in the long tunnel. The work will be conducted from 8:30 am to 4 pm, so expect delays, lane closures, and altered traffic patterns during this t ime.
WYDOT apologizes for the inconvenience, saying these inspections are important to help WYDOT maintain its mission of providing a safe, high quality and efficient transportation system for the citizens of Wyoming.
The work should be completed by 4 pm Wednesday.
