Wyoming Department of Health Launch App for Vaccination Records

The Wyoming Department of Health has announced the launch of their new digital app for families to check whether their children have all the vaccines they need before the new school year begins.
“We wanted to offer a convenient option to Wyoming families who may have questions about the vaccination histories of their children,” said Cassandra Walkama, the Departments’ immunization unit manager.
In Wyoming, children are required to have certain vaccinations in order to attend private or public schools. The required immunizations help prevent serious illness caused by:
- Diphtheria
- Haemophilus Influenzae Type B
- Hepatitis B
- Measles
- Mumps
- Pertussis
- Pneumococcal
- Polio
- Rotavirus
- Rubella
- Tetanus
- Varicella
According to the Health Department, children who do not have their vaccinations up to date may be put on conditional enrollment, depending upon individual school rules.
“Children should have received most of their required immunizations by the time they enter kindergarten,” Walkama said.
Children are also required to have an updated diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis vaccination is also required when they are 11 years old.
“There are other beneficial vaccines not required to attend schools and child care facilities,” she said.
The Wyoming Immunization Registry, known as WyIR, is what provides the records to the Docket App. WyIR is a confidential, secure, cloud-based database containing electronic records of Wyoming resident vaccinations.
Parents will need to setup a password for an account, and will need to know the child’s legal name, birthday and legal sex. The app also authenticates logins, so users emails or phone number will be on file with WyIR.
The app is not just for children’s vaccination records, but adults as well. The Department’s Docket app is available for download on Google Play and the Apple App Store.
If someone would prefer traditional access to vaccination records, they can still obtain their through their healthcare provider or by completing the records request form with the Wyoming Department of Health.
Low-cost vaccines are available through Public Vaccine Program providers throughout the Cowboy State, according to Walkama. To find a provider who offers this program, or any additional information on immunizations, visit the Wyoming Department of Health website.
