Wyoming Game and Fish Hosting Bighorn Basin Hunting Season Meetings
Written by Andrew-Rossi on March 10, 2023
Bighorn Basin residents might want to consider attending one of the seven meetings, as the severity of this winter might affect the time and duration of 2023’s hunting seasons.
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department will conduct six open-house meetings throughout the Bighorn Basin and one final meeting in Worland to discuss 2023 hunting season proposals for small game, game birds, and big game.
During the meetings, Game and Fish personnel will be available to discuss the proposed 2023 hunting seasons for local hunt areas. All members of Bighorn Basin communities are invited and encouraged to attend.
Winter 2022-2023 has been unusually harsh. This may affect 2023’s hunting seasons, as the state’s mule deer populations are experiencing higher-than-normal mortality. However, mule deer are actually doing a bit better than normal in the Cody Region – which encompasses the entire Bighorn Basin.
Meetings are scheduled in several locations throughout the Bighorn Basin. All meetings start at 6 p.m.
