Wyoming Will Have Girls Wrestling For The First Time

Written by on December 7, 2022

Wyoming High School Activities Association sanctioned Girl’s Wrestling this past April.

Wyoming had girls in wrestling since 1998, the girls now have their own sport.

With a reported 200 girls participating in the inaugural season KWOR spoke with 2 of Worland High Schools’ 5 Lady Warrior Wrestlers.

Rylee Anderson, Katie Emmett, Oaklee Alonzo, Rivers Carrell, and Lecsi Ramirez are your Lady Warrior Wrestlers.

WyoPrep.com interviewed W.A.W.A. Women’s Director Jessica Brenton and WHSAA Associate Commissioner Trevor Wilson back in April.

The rules are fluid as weight classes and participation are being evaluated.

Listen to our interviews with Junior Rivers Carrell and Senior Lecsi Ramirez.
