Written by on July 27, 2023

Yellowstone National Park is proudly hosting the Second Annual Lighting of Teepees in Mammoth Hot Springs, Wyoming.

This event is a collaborative effort from the Pretty Shield Foundation and the Rocky Mountain Tribal Leaders Council.

August 1-7, park visitors are invited to view the teepees at the Roosevelt Arch in Gardiner, Montana, and learn about the heritage of the American Indian Tribes of the Yellowstone region.

“The Lighting of Teepees: An Era of Unity and Inclusivity” will include seven teepees that will be installed and illuminated every night at sunset.

This Yellowstone National Park event is free and open to the public.

It is important to note that this event would not be possible if not for partnerships with the Pretty Shield Foundation, the Rocky Mountain Tribal Leaders Council, the Yellowstone Forever and the community of Gardiner, Montana.
