Yellowstone Regional Airport Sets Passenger Record in 2019

Yellowstone Regional has one for the record books.
Despite a slow start, 2019 gave Yellowstone Regional its best year ever in terms of passenger enplanement. The total for the year is 81,966 passengers. This is best passenger number in the airport’s history, despite Delta dropping its winter service and a 14% drop in passenger numbers for the first 5 months of the year. This record growth has made Yellowstone Regional the third busiest airport in the region. If its record growth in recent years is any indication, it could easily rise higher on that list.
There are numerous factors that have contributed to this record year. United and Delta have both improved their service from Denver, Chicago, and Salt Lake City. These improvements have not only added to the attraction for tourists planning their Yellowstone vacations, but also for out local population. 41,220 of the nearly 82 thousand passengers were departing, not just flying in.
Yellowstone Regional is poised for another stellar service year in 2020, especially with the enhances already in the works and the still-in-development master plan for the airport’s increasingly exciting future.
