YNP Seeks More Input on Wireless Project
Written by Andrew-Rossi on May 22, 2017
More input from the public is being sought by Yellowstone National Park Officials on a project that would improve the wireless signals in the park.
The project involves the historic Mt. Washburn Fire Lookout. The park proposes to build a three-sided mounting structure around the lookout as part of a larger project to improve the park’s wireless infrastructure. However, officials are concerned that the proposed project may have adverse effects according to the National Historic Preservation Act.
The park is seeking public comment on whether the construction of this mounting structure would cause an adverse effect to the historic fire lookout. Information on this project, as well as a form to submit comments, is available online through the Planning, Environment and Public Comment system.
