#1 Cody Versus #3 Worland In Wyoming 3A High School Football

The Worland Warriors head North to Cody and play the Broncs at Spike Vanoy Field at 7 PM Friday.

Worland beat Powell last week 28-7 and put themselves in the Wyo-Prep Coaches and Media poll’s top 5 rankings.

The Warriors are currently ranked number 3 in Wyoming 3a Football.

The Cody broncs off of Back to Back State Championships are ranked number 1 in the State after a 49-0 win over Riverton in Week 1.

Both teams are 1-0 in week 2.

At the Quarterback Position, both teams start an All-State Quarterback, and both are being highly recruited.

Worland has Kade Weber. Last week Weber threw for 152 yards on 16 attempts with 11 completions, 3 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions.

Cody’s Lucas Talich threw for 94 yards on 11 attempts with 7 completions, 0 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions.

Weber ran for 82 yards on 11 attempts and 0 touchdowns.

Talich ran for 105 yards on 5 attempts and 2 touchdowns.

Worland’s Kade Weber is the top-ranked offensive player in Wyoming 3A Football with 234 total yards combined.

Cody’s Lucas Talich is the 3rd ranked offensive player with 199 total yards.

The Broncs Runningback Matt Nelson ran for 126 yards on 8 attempts and a touchdown.

At the Wide Reciever position Warrior Brock Douzenis caught 6 balls for 115 yards and 3 touchdowns last week versus Powell.

Wilkins Radovich, for the Broncs, caught 5 receptions for 72 yards against Riverton.

The top Defenders for the Warriors are Douzenis at the Defensiveback position, Brock returned an interception last week 75 yards for a touchdown.

Brock Douzenis was named WyoPredicts Wyoming Athlete of the Week after his performance against Powell.

Other Warrior Defensive Standouts are Sophomores (The DOGZ), Brody Thiel, with 9 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, a sack, and a blocked pass. Linebacker Roman Parra had 9 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and a blocked pass.

Cody’s leading Defender is Grayson Beaudrie with 7 tackles, 2 for loss, and a sack last week against Riverton.

The Broncs return 6 All-State players from the 2021 State Champions.

Worland has been eliminated from the playoffs the last 2 seasons by Cody.

Cody has won 9 in a row versus Worland.
