First Snow Of The Season In Wyoming

Written by on September 9, 2022

Is it ever too early to expect snow in Wyoming? These pictures show that the answer is no!

Photos courtesy of WYDOT show the first appreciable snowfall in Powder River Pass in the Big Horn Mountains.

This may be the first of many Wyoming snowfalls as some meteorologists predict a colder, snowier winter in the Equality State.

Although there are no accumulation numbers, the pictures show heavy, wet snow on the roadway.

If this is any indication, it seems Wyoming is in for a rough winter with temperatures this week varying widely with the mercury reaching over 100 on Labor Day and today’s high only expected to be in the 50s.
