17th and Sheridan Intersection Meeting in December

Written by on November 15, 2018

Cody residents are invited to a presentation regarding the intersection of 17th Street and Sheridan Avenue next month.
The consultants hired to study the dangerous and often confusing intersection, Cumbre Professional Group, will share the results of their research at 6 p.m. on December 5th in the Cody Auditorium.
The engineering firm out of Sheridan studied the intersection between Pinnacle Bank and the Holiday Inn last spring. Their research focused on the area extending from Beck to Bleistein and from 16th to 19th Streets. They held an open house in July to share the traffic and accident data it had compiled, as well as inviting public comment.
City Administrator Barry Cook told the City Council on Tuesday that the consultants have come up with six options that would address the concerns at that intersection, based on cost and safety. The meeting on the 5th of December will be the second public hearing on the issue.
