Another Body Recovered from Bighorn Lake

Written by on August 17, 2018

Search efforts on Bighorn Lake have resulted in the recovery of another body from a boating accident Saturday night.
The body of 36-year-old Nathan Kelley from Billings was recovered Wednesday, and search efforts continue for the last victim. Potable divers using a remote operated vehicle located the boat and Kelley’s body on Wednesday.
Kelley is the third of four victims from the weekend boating mishap – 59-year-old Billings resident Tammy Scoville was killed, and Robert Ludwick, 63 years old, was injured. A fourth victim is still missing. The incident occurred near dayboard 7, about 7 miles south of Yellowtail Dam, on the Montana side of the lake.
The lake will be closed again today between dayboard 6 and 8 from 7AM to 7PM. Visitors are asked to respect the closure to give search teams the space to do their job, and not to contact those involved in the efforts on the lake.
