Bear Association Takes New Name

Written by on July 31, 2017

A new name and logo will better reflect the goals of a local conservation organization that aims to protect and preserve land and animals for the development of bear hunting in three states.
As of tomorrow, the Yellowstone Country Bear Hunters Association will be changing their name and logo, operating under the name “Western Bear Foundation”. Joe Kondelis, President of the association, says it was time to make a change.

Kondelis says that one of their new focuses will be to expand their association and create new chapters with more volunteers, because they are getting so busy in all three states.
Recently, the Foundation offered their assistance to the Park County Commissioners and the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, to help tear down the existing fence at the Park County Landfill in preparation for an electric fence that will help keep bears away from the attractants there.

Kondelis adds that the expansion of the Foundation is a lot of work and a slow process, but they are hoping that the new focus will appeal to more people, which will allow the foundation to do more of the work that is asked of them.
