Big Goose Fire Under Control
Written by Andrew-Rossi on July 19, 2017
Firefighters responded yesterday to a lightning-caused fire in the Bighorn National Forest.
The Big Goose Fire is located north of the Big Goose Ranger Station in the Tongue Ranger District. Four firefighters were handling the fire as of yesterday, and officials expected it to be contained by the end of the day. The fire has burned about 1/10th acre in timber and grass, but no structures were threatened.
Although no fire restrictions are currently in place in the national forest, fire managers remind everyone to be extra vigilant about fire safety in the Bighorns.
