Bomb Threat Mobilizes Law Enforcement in Cody

An anonymous report caused law enforcement to mobilize at the Cody schools Wednesday night.
Ray Shulte, Superintendent of Schools for Park County School District 6, says a tip came in to the anonymous reporting service Safe2Tell on September 11th that someone overheard someone else talk about bombing places.
Shulte says that neither administration nor law enforcement felt it was a credible threat, but they take all of those incidents seriously.
Shulte says within the message, there was no talk about specific places, adding that most likely it was a student overhearing other students talking about bombing – and pointed out that the report was made on 9/11, so the conversation could have been taken out of context, as part of a discussion about the events in 2001.
Shulte added that since 9/11, any mention of a threat is going to be taken extremely seriously, and warns that any talk of bombing or threats, even jokingly, sets cautionary tactics in motion.
