Both Boys and Girls Finish Second At Burlington Invite

WHS Track and Field were in Burlington Friday for the Burlington Invite.

Powell, Worland, Burlington, Riverside, Wind River, Rocky Mountain, Doubois, Greybull, Western Heritage(Girls Only), Meeteese, St Stephens, and Ten Sleep were the teams at the event.

Worland added 3 more athletes in 4 events the Automatically Qualified for State.

Garrett Cole, and Brock Douzenis in the 100 meter.

Sophomore Erika Manahan in the 200 meter.

Aaron Carver qualified in his second event in the 300 meter hurdles adding to his already qualifier in the 110 meter hurdles.

Worland Track and Field now has 5 athletes in 6 events including Mania Peterson in the Shot put.

The Girls Track and Field team finished 2nd at the event despite not having a single Senior on the team.

Freshamn Zena Tapia won the 1600 meter, Mania Peterson won the Discus.

The Girl’s relay team of Maddy Lloyd, Lecsi Ramirez, Nyssa Leyva, and Erika Manahan won the 4X100.

The Girls also won the 1600 Sprint Medley.

The Boys Track and Field team also finished 2nd behind Powell by 1 point: Powell 185.08, Worland 184.08.

Senior Aaron Carver won both the 110 meter hurdle and the 300 meter hurdle.

Junior Brock Douzenis would win the Boys Long Jump.

The Relay team of Felix Lentsh, Jack Bishop, Melvin Croft, and Harley Redding won the Boys 4X800.

The very popular 4X100 was won by sprinters Liam Harper, Nathan Harper, Felix Lentsch, and Aaron Carver.

The Boys had a clean sweep of all relay events at the Burlington Invite.
