BREAKING NEWS: Human Remains Found in Cody

The Cody Police Department is currently investigating human remains – identity unknown – found in a hillside at Sunset Blvd above Sulphur Creek on Jan. 3.
On Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, at approximately 10:08 a.m., officers with the Cody Police Department responded to the 1300 Block of Sunset Blvd South in Cody to a report of found human remains.
The Cody Police Department sent out a news release detailing the discovery and their response.
Landscapers working behind a residence discovered partial human remains on the hillside above Sulfur Creek. With the assistance of a Park County Search and Rescue cadaver dog, additional remains were located near the bottom of Sulfur Creek.
The exact location of the remains has not been disclosed.
Early investigation of the remains shows no signs of foul play or criminality.
The identity of the individual has not been determined. A complete and thorough investigation is underway. However, the Cody Police Department says there is currently no evidence of criminality.
Additional information will be made available pending a complete forensic examination of the remains.
