NIC TALICH RAN FOR OVER 100 YARDS AND TWO TOUCHDOWNS TO HELP CODY PULL AWAY FROM EVANSTON FRIDAY NIGHT FOR A TOUGH FOUGHT 21-6 VICTORY.
THE BRONCS STARTED OFF THE GAME WITH A FUMBLE ON THEIR VERY FIRST PLAY FROM SCRIMMAGE AND FOUND THEMSELVES DOWN BY 6 MIDWAY THROUGH THE FIRST HALF. AFTER ANOTHER FUMBLE AND A TURNOVER ON DOWNS EVERYTHING CAME TOGETHER ON A 99-YARD DRIVE WHICH ENDED WITH THE FIRST OF TALICH’S TWO TOUCHDOWN SCORES. CODY LED AT THE HALF 7-6.
CODY BEGAN TO FIND A GROOVE IN THE THIRD QUARTER. ON THEIR SECOND POSSESSION OF THE HALF THE BRONCS MARCHED 92 YARDS DOWN THE FIELD WHICH ENDED IN ANOTHER TALICH TD. MIDWAY THROUGH THE 4TH QUARTER NATHAN WILSON WOULD TACK ON ONE MORE SCORE FOR THE BRONCS WHO HELD ON FOR THE WIN.
THIS WAS A GAME RIDDLED IN MISTAKES AS 8 FUMBLES OCCURRED DURING THE CONTEST. CODY ENDED UP WITH 3 TURNOVERS, EVANSTON 2. MEANWHILE, CODY WAS FLAGGED FOR 7 PENALTIES IN THE SECOND HALF.
