Candidates Have Their Last Word

A final candidate forum was held yesterday at Cody Club, giving business owners another chance to hear from the ten Park County commissioner candidates and the four people running for the House District 24 seat, as well as the two candidates for Cody City Council Ward 2.
Each candidate was given two minutes to present their platforms to the crowded Club Room, and attendees were afforded the opportunity to make some final decisions before today’s primary election.
Topics discussed ranged from financial transparency to preparing for the county’s growth and development, along with giving young people opportunities to work here and prevent the export of those resources to other parts of the country.
A common theme of the forum, particularly among commissioner candidates, is that no one has concerns about how the county is currently being run. Cathy Marine echoed the sentiments of many of the candidates, saying that she simply is asking for the opportunity to serve.
The Park County Commissioner race will be decided today, as there are only Republican candidates running for the three open seats.
