A 4.1 magnitude earthquake was reported by the United States Geological Survey Sunday July 4th at 3:17pm. The earthquake occurred 9.6 miles beneath the epicenter. The earthquake epicenter was 29 miles south of Ten Sleep, 39 miles southeast of Worland, and 41 miles east of Thermopolis.

The Brokenback Creek Fire that burned approximately 1,300 acres, believed to be mostly BLM land. Ten Sleep Fire Department, the Bureau of Land Management, Washakie County firefighters and Big Horn National Forest firefighters all assisted.
