After having their game postponed from Saturday afternoon the Cody Basketball teams would honor their seniors Monday night as Cody closed out their regular season against Riverton.
The Fillies would put on a show dropping in a season high 73 points in the win. 11 Fillies would score in the contest and the Fillies put a stamp on the season winning the contest 73-16.
The Fillies would get off to a hot start with their three seniors: Ally Schroeder, Brittan Bower and Torrie Schutzman all putting their mark on the game and helped the Fillies out to a 16-2 first quarter lead.
Active hands and stifling defense was key for the Fillies in the first half as they dropped in 28 second quarter points to extend the lead to 44-10 at the intermission. Schutzman had 10 points in the second quarter while Bower dropped in seven in the frame.
The game was all Cody, who dropped in 29 more points in the second half. A game that was punctuated by a Brindi Brittain fade-away bank three pointer. (She kind of stole the show.) Here’s that call.
Again 11 Fillies would score in the contest led by Bower with 15 points. Torrie Schutzman had 13 and Molly Hays scored 12 to lead the Fillies. Ally Schroeder finished with 4 points.
With the win the Fillies finish the regulars season 14-4, 4-2 in league play and are the Number 2 seed for the Regional tournament.

As for the Broncs, while the game would not go their way on senior night, losing 66-48, the Broncs showed fight and grittiness till the very end.
The game got off to a slow start but as the first half chugged along, the Wolverines would find their rhythm in the second quarter dropping in 23 in the frame to take a 38-13 lead into intermission. Offense was tough to come by for the Broncs in the first half but in the second half, Cody was able to outscore Riverton 35-28.
Riverton’s Jared Lucas led all scorers on the night dropping in 31 points.
Every Bronc senior would score in the game. Nic Talich had nine points, Cody Phillips had eight, Tucker Lynn had four, Caleb Pryor had six and Tristan Dollard scored 5.
With the loss the Broncs finish the season 4-14 overall, 2-4 in league play and will be the No. 3 seed at the Regional Tournament.
Up Next: The Cody basketball teams will be in Riverton for the Class 4A west Regional tournament. All that action gets underway Thursday morning.
