Cody Chamber Celebrates 9th Annual “Park & Pancakes”

Written by on May 5, 2023

The Cody Chamber of Commerce just wrapped up its ninth annual “Park & Pancakes” event outside of the Chamber office.

The annual event celebrates the opening of the East entrance of Yellowstone National Park. The opening of the gate signals that tourist season is quickly approaching in Park County.

People from the community came out and enjoyed a free breakfast that included pancakes, bacon, fruit, and coffee or juice. While eating, most people took advantage of the beautiful weather and ate their food “picnic style” in City Park.

This year, Yellowstone National Park is turning 151-years old and many people are hopeful that this season will duplicate the 2021 season, which was the park’s busiest season to date. Many business owners have reported that they are projecting a significant increase in revenue this year as last year’s season was impacted by major flooding in the park, which ultimately forced the park to close for a couple of weeks.

In Cody, the town triples its size during the summer months as people come from all over the world to experience the Yellowstone, rodeo, and many of the outdoor recreation opportunities that the Big Horn Basin offers. The Chamber says it’s excited to see what this year has in store for Cody and Park County.
